Rain

It is raining today! I do enjoy the rain. Rain makes everything smell better and look cleaner. Rain is natures dishwasher. Does that make us the dishes? Sometimes it feels like we are all stuck in a dishwasher. Things of life pushing us from side to side, keeping our lives choatic and hazy. What an interesting image. I guess the heated dry cycle is summertime in Arizona. :-)
The rain is also watering my flowers for me. Which is good. I put off planting the flowers I bought and so half have died. The others there are either doing really well or threatening dying. The water should helping the limp wilted ones.
Oh, my drier is fixed. My wonderful husband spent forever yesterday on it and now I don't have to hang out the laundry. So, yet another reason the rain is ok.
Hmm..those are my rainy thoughts today. Anything rainy on your mind?

Hello!

This year is just flying by! Can you believe that Halloween is already over? Today I need to go out and take down all the Halloween decorations and box them up. Each year my collection of Halloween decorations grows. Funny, when growing up we never decorated anything but ourselves in our costumes for Halloween, but now in my neighborhood there are a couple dozen houses with decorations up for Halloween. Not just any decorations, lights, ghosts in the trees...hanging witches, ghosts and monsters. I think it is a lot of fun, but is Halloween becoming more and more like Christmas? I wonder if manufacturers have just gotten smarter selling the stuff for Halloween of if there is some other social reason for the change.
Thanksgiving is coming soon. I don't see many people decorate for Thanksgiving. Usually those who decorate for Halloween just leave up the less ghouly of the fall decorations. The pumpkins without faces stay, the scarecrows stick around and once in awhile you see a pumpkin turned into a turkey.
Then comes Christmas. It is funny because I decorated more for Halloween this year than I usually do for Christmas. (Outside of the house anyway). I wonder if that will lead to me feeling pressure (from myself of course) to do more for Christmas. Usually I just put up a small string of lights across the house. Which is plenty to excite the kids every time we drive up to the house and they are sparkling.
Hmm...how do you plan to decorate for Christmas?
