Cub Scouts and Valentines

Happy Valentines Day!
Preparations for today have been pretty low-key. Usually I have a bit more planned for the kids to take to school and I would usually attend their school parties. But not today. Today..I have Cub Scouts to prepare for. Later this month is the Blue and Gold Banquet. (A pack meeting where there is dinner and grander everything..) So, the boys in my den get to make the centerpieces for the tables. The theme is Hawaii. So, I've been working up a project I think the kids will be able to complete themselves.

The boys will color the Tiki with lots of bright colors and I figure they could draw fish and such in the water. I am also going to pick up some of those little drink umbrellas to set next to the towel. I think the boys will be able to complete one in an hour.
The palm trees are made out of coffee filters, dyed with food coloring in water. My sis-in-law gave me the idea. Aren't they cute?
I hope you are all having loving days!
