Should Be Bulleted But It Isn't
I have been unable to get my 14 mo-old and my 2 1/2 yr-old to get on the same nap schedule. It feels completely unfair. But, motherhood has absolutely nothing to do with fairness. So, I am taking a brief Teletubby moment.
Know what? I really enjoyed my first soccer practice. All my trepidation encouraged me to be prepared and so I spent a lot of time planning what I wanted to do during the practice. I think that is a large part of why it went well. Such a great lesson, (one I have had to learn over and over...) being prepared makes everything easier. I had 10 of the 12 children show up. There were 9 boys and my daughter. I had parents at the sidelines, watching and encouraging their children. There were three fathers there watching. I find it interesting that the old stereotypes are not coming into play here. I, the parent of the only girl on the team, volunteered to coach. While, three fathers who obviously have some available time at 4pm in the afternoon, decided not to coach. I received many thankyous from the parents for volunteering. I appreciated that! After all, I know they each got the same phone I did asking them to coach. I look forward to this weeks practice and the game on Saturday.
Cub Scouts is also continuing to go well. We have planned to let the boys make rubber band shooters (wooden guns that hold rubber bands with a clothespin..when clothespin is opened the rubber band shoots out where aimed). There is a big event called Scout O'Rama coming up where the boys get to set up booths and teach other children about their project. So, this week we will be starting to put the shooters together. Lots of sandpaper and gluing to come. I explained the project to my eight year-old boy and he has been unable to contain his excitement since.
Last night, my family (brothers and sisters, mom, aunt..etc.) got together and sang karaoke. My mom got a machine recently and wanted to try it out. I think I will pick her up some more current music selections for future gatherings..LOL. Plus, the microphone wouldn't work, so it turned more into a sing along. My family is a singing family and we all had a lot of fun. All the kids loved the kid's songs and sang at the top of their lungs.
Hmmm...this could have been a bulleted list. Things are busy but good here right now. Wish me luck at my MRI tomorrow. Pray that my abdomen is all normal and healthy looking.

Wait I feel like I missed something....oh well. Good luck for sure tomorrow.
You are a brave woman for coaching soccer. When that day comes...not this year, someone else volenteered this year, but when it comes...that will get left to hubby.
My husband and I had a blast coaching soccer! Well, he did most of the coaching, I did the pone calls, treat schedule, etc. My son will never forget it. Our lives have become too hectic to be able to volunteer to coach anymore, and we are so thankfull for people who will take the time to do it!
Good luck tomorrow.
I think being a Den mother is one of the hardest things ever! Congratulations on being able to and wanting to do it!! Good Luck!!!
