Another poem

I've been working on a couple more poems for my Creative Writing class. The one I am going to post tonight is a poem written as a letter. It is called an Epistolary Poem. I haven't worked on it yet to move it from letter form to poem form..so it is still a prose poem..and I might just leave it like that. It is a lighthearted letter to my son Brandon, who is our surprise baby. I think this one of those times the writing looks good right after completetion, but the next day ya go "what was I thinking??" heh..

Dear Brandon,
Your father and I planned the most wonderful trip; to visit Disneyland and pretend to be newlyweds. I know we can be silly but ten years is a long time to plan a trip. Ten years waiting to ride those twisty, curvy rides. Ten years waiting to blow kisses to the pirates, pose with Pluto, and get nauseous on the tea cups. All the tantalizing, innocent, excitement was just calling to us. But as you know, my beautiful boy Brandon, we had no pirates, no Pluto, no puking. We instead had a special surprise. We had you. So, we have started planning again. I picture you now pointing at pirates and posing with Pluto. As for our new ten year plan, we think we'll take a cruise.
